BMW & Joëlle Blouin Collaboration: L’art rencontre la performance
Bonjour, dear art enthusiasts and followers! It's Joëlle here, and today I'm bursting with excitement to share with you one of the most exciting experiences of my artistic journey.
A Dream Fusion
Picture this: the elegance of a BMW combined with the vibrant, rebellious strokes of Urban Cubism. Sounds like a dream, doesn’t it? Well, dreams do come true!
The Inspiration
BMW, synonymous with sophistication, luxury, and performance, is a car brand that I particularly love. And I had a vision. I envisioned marrying my art with the iconic BMW X5 not just as a car, but as a canvas. A canvas that could drive (pun intended!) a powerful message of innovation and creativity.
The Process
Marrying art with an automobile is no easy feat. It required a deep understanding of the car’s architecture, its curves, lines, and surfaces. To help me with this, I had the pleasure of working with one of the best in the industry, a fellow Canadian, Christina McKay, who owns Curvaceous Wraps. We meticulously planned, ensuring that the artwork accentuated the BMW's design without overshadowing its elegance. The URBN CUBIX5 was born—a perfect blend of my signature Urban Cubism style and BMW's iconic design. It was surreal to see my art, usually confined to canvases, come alive on a moving object, challenging the conventional norms of both art and automobiles.
The Reveal
The unveiling of the URBN CUBIX5 was an evening etched in memory. Amidst an atmosphere of palpable anticipation, when the covers were pulled off, the crowd was met with an arresting sight—a luxury car transformed into a masterpiece. The synergy between luxury and art was unmistakable. As I always say, "Art meets performance," and this project was a testament to that.
Final Thoughts
This collaboration with BMW Ville de Québec wasn't just about placing art on a car. It was about breaking boundaries, challenging the status quo, and pushing the limits of creativity. It reaffirmed my belief that art isn't just what you see on a canvas. Art is everywhere—even on the roads now, thanks to the URBN CUBIX5!
